The IMSA Esports Global Championship Returns!

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) is again collaborating with iRacing, the Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) and Michelin to present the world’s foremost sim racing sports car series: the 2023 IMSA Esports Global Championship.

IMSA eSports Open Challenge

For the final round of the 2023 IMSA Esports Global Championship, a support race will be added and the iRacing community outside of the Global Championship Series can get in on the action. A 20-minute, GT4 support race named the IMSA Esports iRacing Open Challenge will take place prior to the finale at Daytona on Saturday, December 16th.

From December 6th to the 10th, Time Attack sessions will be available for members to attempt to qualify for the event. Each car that is a part of the race will have a Time Attack to choose from. The fastest five eligible times for each car will be invited to race. Members may attempt to qualify for multiple cars to try and get a spot on the grid. Drivers who have competed in the Global Championship are not permitted entry.

The five cars included will be the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, BMW M4 GT4, McLaren 570S GT4, Mercedes-AMG GT4, and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR. More details about the Open Challenge will be unveiled on this weekend’s broadcast, and more information will be available through VCO.
